Six Point Survival Guide for Air Conditioning

Around Apex and the Triangle summer has sure arrived and with it a lot of rain, heat and humidity. New wipers and good tires aside, it is important to be comfortable and safe as we hit the road for that visit to downtown Raleigh, the beaches and the mountains. Our first 90-degree day signifies the time of year when both driver and vehicle are tested to the limits. Believe it or not, a car battery will fail more in the summer than in the winter. Maintenance is critical as we approach July 4th and the true hot summer season.

Although it is quite July 1, the Triangle humidity is still a major factor for comfort, especially as we drive around Apex and Cary. Drivers are utilizing a vehicle’s air conditioning unit every day, regardless of the weather. A dependable working A/C unit is every vehicle is an important component to battle the heat and humidity of North Carolina. If the air conditioning starts blowing hot air, having the windows down is not the best solution.

At Premier 1 Automotive Apex, on Investment Blvd., our ASE Certified Technicians will go over every inch of the vehicle to make sure it is rolling right. We can check the heating and cooling system from belts and hoses to antifreeze; we want you safe.

Premier One Automotive will check the following six important air conditioning components:

  • Refrigerant: Is there enough in the unit?
  • Blower motor: Is it blowing working? Does the cabin fan working right?
  • Condensation drains: Are drains blocked up or plugged up in any way with leaves and debris?
  • Air Filter: Is it clean and breathing correctly?
  • Coils and connections: Is anything loose or unusual?
  • Thermostat: It is functioning? We can replace it if it is not properly opening and closing.

Give Matt a call at 919 387 6800 to schedule an air conditioning tune up before heading to the beach, mountains, or back to family and friends. We want the car’s air conditioning to be working perfectly when you leave our service center. Please give us a call. We service BMW, most foreign and import makes and all domestics vehicles. “
